Kecerdasan emosional adalah kecerdasan yang dimiliki oleh seorang guru untuk dipergunakan dalam
mengontrol emosi dirinya saat berkomunikasi dengan siswa, orang tua murid, rekan sejawat, dan warga
sekolah lainnya secara konstruktif dan efektif dalam melaksanakan tugas serta perannya sebagai
seorang guru. Kemampuan pedagogik guru dalam mengatur emosi dapat menjadi tolak ukur
keberhasilan seorang guru dalam melaksanakan peran dan tugasnya. Hal itu berguna sebagai evaluasi
terhadap proses belajar mengajar serta meningkatkan keterampilan guru di sekolah. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru dalam mengelola kecerdasan emosional sebagai salah
satu kompetensi pedagogik guru. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut penelitian ini menggunakan metode
deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket dalam jaringan.
Subjek penelitian adalah para guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Yaqin, Semanan - Jakarta Barat. Analisis
data dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan indikator penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
kecerdasan emosional sebagai kemampuan pedagogik guru memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan berarti
sehingga guru mempunyai kemampuan untuk mengenali emosi diri, mengelola emosi, memotivasi diri,
mengenali emosi orang lain, dan membina hubungan dengan sesama.

Emotional intelligence is a teacher s intelligence to be used in controlling his or her emotions when
communicating with students, parents, peers, and other school members constructively and effectively
in carrying out their duties and role as a teacher. The teacher s pedagogical ability to regulate emotions
can be a measure of a teacher s success in carrying out his or her role and duties. This is useful as an
evaluation of the teaching and learning process and improving the skills of teachers in schools. This
study aims to determine the ability of teachers to manage emotional intelligence as one of the
pedagogical competencies of teachers. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method to achieve
its goal. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing networking questionnaires. The
research subjects were the teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Yaqin, Semanan - West Jakarta.
Data analysis was carried out by describing the research indicators. The results showed that emotional
intelligence as a teacher s pedagogic ability has a positive and meaningful influence so that teachers
have the ability to recognize self-emotions, to manage their emotions, to motivate themselves, to
recognize other people s emotions, and to build relationships with others.
