Description:
Nusantara merupakan wilayah kepulauan (archipelago), berasal dari dua kata
nusa berarti pulau atau gugusan pulau-pulau kecil dan besar, dan antara berarti
tengah-tengah. Jadi nusantara merupakan pulau atau gugusan pulau-pulau kecil dan
besar yang terletak di tengah-tengah antara dua benua, yaitu benua Asia dan benua
Australia. Serta terletak ditengah-tengah diantara dua samudera, yaitu samudera
Pasifik dan samudera Hindia/Indonesia. Negara Indonesia adalah negara kepulauan
dimana wilayah air sebagai pemersatu atau penghubung antar pulau. Nusantara
menggambarkan kesatuan wilayah perairan dan gugusan pulau-pulau di Indonesia
yang terletak diantara samudera Pasifik dan samudera Hindia/Indonesia serta diantara
benua Asia dan benua Australia.
