Description:

Daun kecapi (Sandoricum koetjape (Burm.f.) Merr.) secara empiris digunakan menyembuhkan penyakit kulit. Bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit kulit antara lain bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Daun kecapi mengandung senyawa yang diduga mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri yaitusaponin, flavonoid dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri ekstrak air daun kecapi (Sandoricum koetjape (Burm.f.) Merr.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteriStaphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli.Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan kelompok kontrol aquadest dan kelompok kontrol kloramfenikol. Aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak terhadap Staphylococcus aureusmenggunakan 6 konsentrasi, yaitu 6,25%, 12,5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% danterhadap Escherichia coli menggunakan 4 konsentrasi, yaitui25%,50%,75% dan 100%. Efek antibakteri dinilaimenggunakan metode difusi dengan melihat zona hambat yang terbentuk diatas permukaan agar yang ditanami bakteriStaphylococcus aureusatau Escherichia colli. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak air daun kecapi memperlihatkan zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 100 % dengan rata � rata diameter 22,3 mm, dan zona hambat terkecil pada konsentrasi 6,25 % dengan rata- rata diameter 8,325 mm pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, sedangkan ekstrak air daun kecapi (Sandoricum koetjape (Burm.f.) Merr.) memperlihatkan zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 100 % dengan rata-rata diameter 11,4 mm, dan zona hambat terkecil pada konsentrasi 25 % dengan rata-rata diameter 7,8 mm pada bakteri Escherichia coli.

Kecapi Leaves (Sandoricum koetjape (Burm.f.) Merr.) has used empirically to cure skin diseases.Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are known cause skin diseases. Kecapi Leaves contains active compounds as antibacterial activity like saponin, flavonoids and tannins. This study aimed todetermine the antibacterial effect of water extract of kecapi leaves (Sandoricum koetjape (Burm.f.) Merr.) on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The study wasconducted experimentally using aquadest and chloramphenicol as control group. The assessment of antibacterial on Staphylococcus aureus used 6 concentrations, ie 6.25%, 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and against Escherichia coli used 4 concentrations, ie 25%, 50%, 75 % and 100%.Antibacterial effects were assessed using the diffusion method by looking at the inhibitory zone formed above the surface in order to be planted. The results showed that the largest inhibition zone at concentration of 100% with an average diameter 22.3 mm, and the smallest one at concentration of 6.25% with an average diameter of 8.3 mm in Staphylococcus aureus. Whilein Escherichia coli, the water extract showed the largest inhibit zone at concentration of 100% with an average diameter of 11.4 mm, and the smallest one at 25% concentration with an average diameter of 7, 8 mm.
