Description:

Based on the category of infectious diseases, diarrhea ranks third in the cause of death, according to (WHO, 2010), the diarrhea morbidity rate in 2010 was 411 patients per` 1000 population. In 2016 there were 3 times outbreaks of diarrhea, including in Tangerang Regency. Diarrhea is a disorder of bowel movements characterized by defecation more than 3 times a day with the consistency of liquid stool, with blood or mucus. Diarrhea incidence was found in 3,534 cases and handled as many as 1,299 (36.8%). In tackling the incidence of diarrhea, one of the Cikupa Community Health Center programs is community-based total sanitation (STBM) with 5 pillars. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between total community-based sanitation facilities and the incidence of diarrhea in RT 1 Cikupa Village in 2018. This study used Cross Sectional design, with a sample size of 97 respondents in RT 1 Cikupa Village, sampling techniques using Simple Random Sampling, and analysis with Chi-square test conducted in February-June 2018. Univariate results found the highest proportion of respondents who were good at stopping open defecation (55.7%), both in CTPS (89.7%), both in management drinking water and food (56.7%), not good in securing household waste (52.6%), and not good in securing household wastewater (89.7%). There is a connection between stopping open defecation, CTPS, managing drinking water and food and securing household waste. There is no relationship between securing household wastewater. It is hoped that in the effort to implement stop defecation, CTPS, processing of drinking water and food, and safeguarding household waste can reduce the incidence of diarrhea.
