Seiring dengan berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi informasi, keinginan akses sumber informasi yang bisa didapat kapan saja dan dimana saja. Serta kemudahan akses informasi yang menjadi tuntutan baik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari maupun dalam dunia bisnis. Pengelolaan informasi yang manual kini sudah mulai berkembang dan terkomputerisasi. Sehingga pengolahan informasi dapat dilakukan secara cepat dan akurat.
Lembaga pendidikan merupakan salah satu lembaga yang sangat membutuhkan sistem yang terkomputerisasi dan teknologi informasi, banyak sekolah yang masih kesulitan dengan pengolahan data dan proses yang masih menggunakan sistem yang manual. Sehingga memperlambat proses dan memakan banyak waktu. Salah satu proses yang memakan banyak waktu yaitu proses pendaftaran. Proses pendaftaran yang menggunakan sistem manual sering terjadinya kesalahan oleh manusia/human error cukup besar pada proses administrasi dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama dalam melakukan pendaftaran. Salah satu cara mengatasinya dengan menggunakan Sistem yang sudah terkomputerisasi, yaitu sistem pendaftaran online berbasis website.
