Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) adalah rangkaian usaha, untuk menciptakan suasana kerja yang aman dan tentram bagi para karyawan yang bekerja di perusahaan yang bersangkutan (Suma�mur, 2001). Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja mengandung nilai perlindungan tenaga kerja dari kecelakaan atau penyakit akibat kerja. Tenaga kerja merupakan aset organisasi yang sangat berharga dan merupakan unsur penting dalam proses produksi disamping unsur lainnya seperti material, mesin, dan lingkungan kerja. Karena itu tenaga kerja harus dijaga, dibina, dan dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan produktivitasnya (Ramli, 2010)
