Manajemen resiko sangat penting bagi kelangsungan suatu usaha atau kegiatan. Jika terjadi suatu bencana, seperti kebakaran atau kerusakan, perusahaan akan mengalami kerugian yang sangat besar, yang dapat menghambat, menggangu bahkan menghancurkan kelangsungan usaha atau
kegiatan operasi. Dalam aspek K3 kerugian berasal dari kejadian yang tidak diinginkan yang timbul dari aktivitas organisasi, tanpa menerapkan manajemen resiko perusahaan dihadapkan dengan ketidak pastian, manajemen tidak mengetahui apa saja bahaya yang akan terjadi dalam organisasi atau perusahaan sehingga tidak mempersiapkan diri untuk menghadapinya (Ramli, 2010).
