Description:
Taekwondo adalah seni bela diri yang telah mengalami perkembangan
luas selama lebih dari 2000 tahun. Kata taekwondo sendiri secara harfiah
berarti seni menendang dan memukul (Tae = kaki, kwon = tangan, do =
seni). Taekwondo meliputi seni tendangan, pukulan, loncatan, tangkisan,
dan elakan. Taekwondo merupakan bentuk bela diri sekaligus menjadi
sistem kompetisi oalahraga yang mana tekniknya telah diakui secara
internasional. Dari sisi kompetisi, taekwondo menitikberatkan pada tenaga,
kecepatan dan akurasi (Lee & Ricke, 2005).
