Description:
Persaingan bisnis dalam industri ban, menuntut setiap produsen untuk selalu berusaha memenuhi kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen. Perubahan selera konsumen juga menjadi pertimbangan penting dalam desain produk baru. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Data kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen ditentukan tingkat kepentingannya, karakteristik teknik, korelasi teknik, nilai target, dan nilai posisi terhadap kompetitor, kemudian disusun menjadi Rumah Kualitas (HOQ) yang selanjutnya dipakai sebagai acuan dalam membuat desain baru sehingga produk baru yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa produk baru ini memiliki 9 keunggulan terhadap produk lama, 8 keunggulan terhadap produk kompetitor ban X, serta 2 item peluang untuk perbaikan.
