WEB BASED APPLICATION FOR TOURISM IN NORTH SUMATRA

Tourism Object is everything in a tourist destination which is an attraction for people to come to visit the place, all places or natural conditions that have built and developed tourist resources so that they have an attraction and are cultivated as a place to be visited. traveler. However, currently, there is no tourism information system that helps people to introduce tourist objects and forms of marketing or marketing tourist objects in North Sumatra for foreign tourists. This research was conducted with the aim of designing and building a tourist information system that can present and provide tourism and cultural information in North Sumatra Province. The background of this research was appointed based on the need for an information system that can provide comprehensive information quickly and accurately, because the delivery of information about tourism in North Sumatra Province, for now, is still with brochures in other words the delivery of this kind of information is not effective enough and not enough to attract tourists to visit North Sumatra Province. And this information system can also make it easier for the government of the local tourism and culture department to manage tourism and cultural information in the area. This study uses the waterfall system development method and designs the structure of the system to be built using PostgreSQL as a database. The things contained in this system include various information systems about tourism in North Sumatra. From the results of research assignments at the end of the day, it can be concluded that the information system takes place online and is well computerized.
