Latar Belakang : Lanjut usia adalah seseorang yang telah mencapai usia 60 tahun keatas yang disertai dengan adanya penurunan fungsi organ dan beberapa perubahan sehingga lansia sangat rentan untuk mengalami masalah psikososial salah satunya adalah kejadian depresi. Pemberian dukungan dari keluarga secara adekuat kepada lansia maka dapat membantu mengatasi kejadian depresi yang akan atau telah terjadi pada lansia dan lansia juga dapat menghabiskan hari tua dengan sejahtera, nyaman, bahagia, produktif dan berdaya guna hingga ajal menjemputnya. Prevalensi lansia yang mengalami depresi di dunia sekitar 8-15%.
