Description:

Instant food is a food that is practical and easy to obtain, one example of instant food is instant noodles. The critical point in instant noodles lies in all the ingredients it uses, such as; wheat flour, cooking oil, and seasonings that are not necessarily healthy and halal. Pregnant women who often consume instant foods are at risk of hypertension, where the consumption of carbohydrate sources is quite high such as fried foods, biscuits, chips almost every day and consumption of meatballs and fried noodles on average ≥ 3 times a week while daily food portions have also increased. Many studies have shown an association between instant food consumption and high sodium intake in pregnant women, while pregnant women who consume high sodium (≥2300 mg / day) influence the risk factors for hypertension in pregnant women with a 7.2 times greater risk of hypertension. Considering the dangerous risk of instant food, it is better for pregnant women to consume food from natural sources so that the degree of health of the mother and fetus can be improved. One way to increase consumption of natural foods is by way of socializing the importance of natural consumption for pregnant women. The socialization method used is using the lecture method. The result of this activity is a change in knowledge from before and after the socialization which means that this activity is quite effective in encouraging changes in the eating behavior of pregnant women.
