Description:

Pasir Jaya Village is one of the villages in Cigombong Subdistrict - Bogor Regency that has 22.52% of the school-aged children of the population in the village. Even though the number of schools is relatively sufficient, educational infrastructure such as childrens libraries for public are not yet available so this has an impact on low interest in reading. Seeing the residents activities which are often held routinely and usually done with children, related to the preparation of education and knowledge of these children, the community service program undertaken is the procurement of a Child Friendly Library (PARA) in Pasir Jaya Village. The methods of implementing this community service program include surveys of supporting facilities for childrens libraries, Procurement of shelves, book library chairs, providing training and coaching for prospective library managers namely mothers who are members of the PKK and teenagers in Pasir Jaya Village. For this reason, the provision of a child-friendly library in the village can be carried out, and attracts childrens interest in reading, as well as providing expertise and busyness that is beneficial for mothers in the village.
