Penelitian ini membahas tentang strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang dijalankan oleh pengelola surat kabar di
tengah pesatnya perkembangan media daring. PT Media Fajar adalah penerbit surat kabar yang berusaha
bertahan melalui koran Harian Fajar. PT Media Fajar perlu strategi untuk mengadaptasikan perkembangan
teknologi informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan strategi komunikasi pemasaran dan
menjelaskan faktor-faktor berpengaruh tehadap peningkatan pembaca koran. Metode penelitian yang dipakai
bersifat kualitatif dan deskriptif. Hasilnya adalah PT Media Fajar berpedoman pada strategi komunikasi
pemasaran melalui bauran pemasaran yaitu advertising, sales promotion, publicity, personal selling, direct selling, event,
dan interactive marketing. Kemudian faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh pada peningkatan pembaca adalah
kehadiran kompetitor, kualitas sumber daya manusia yang terbatas, perizinan, dan anggaran.

This research focuses on marketing communication strategy held by newspaper operator among the internet media developed. PT
Media Fajar is a newspaper creator which survive through Harian Fajar. PT Media Fajar needs strategy to adapt the
information technology development. It aims to explain marketing communication strategy and influenced factors toward the
increasing of the newspaper readers. The result is PT Media Fajar bases on the marketing communications strategy through the
mix marketing; advertising, sales promotion, publicity, personal selling, direct selling, event, dan interactive marketing. Then the
influenced factors to increase the readers are competitors, limited human resources quality, rule, and financial.
