PENGELOMPOKAN KEPRIBADIAN MANUSIA DITINJAU DARI ADVERSITY QUOTIENT (AQ),STUDI KASUS MAHASISWA FASILKOM KELAS PARALEL SEMESTER GANJIL TAHUN AKADEMIK 2017/2018 SESI 10 MATA KULIAH BUSINESS ENGLISH DALAM MENGATASI MASALAH BAHASA INGGRIS

Sejauh ini, kita sebagai pendidik selalu menggunakan IQ, EQ dan juga SQ untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pelajar dapat mencapai prestasi mereka..Kita lupa bahwa mereka akan menuju dunia kerja.Dunia kerja adalah berbeda dari pada dunia perkuliahan.Kemudian Paul G. Stoltz Ph.D telah datang untuk memperkenalkan Adversity Quotient (AQ) to menunjukan bahwa AQ itu penting untuk diperkenal kepada dunia khususnya lembaga pendidikan.AQ adalah satu perangkat untuk mengetahui sejauh mana orang dapat mengatasi masalah ketika mereka menghadapinya..Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan mahasiswa dari Fakultas Ilmu Komputer tahun akademik 2017/2018, semester ganjil kelas parallel sebagai obyek penelitian. Peneliti memberikan mata kuliah bahasa Inggris kepada para mahasiswa itu selama satu semester. dengan menggunakan standard penelitian dari PAMU (Pengampu Mata Kuliah Umum) dengan perincian kehadiran sebanyak 10%, tugas 20%, Ujian Tengah Semester 30% dan Ujian Akhir Semester 40%. Dengan menggunakan standar penilaian ini, peneliti mengubahnya ke dalam konversi penilaian berdasarkan kategori yang ditentukan oleh AQ yang terdiri dari tiga yaitu dari penilaian terendah yang disebut �Quitters,� di mana orang yang berada pada kategorinya cenderung untuk berhenti berusaha bila menghadapi satu permasalahan.Kategori kedua disebut �Campers.�Orang yang termasuk dalam kategori ini bila dia menghadapi permasalahan cenderung untuk bertahan dan mencari jalan aman, tidak berhenti tapi tidak juga berusaha untuk menjadi lebih baik. Sedangkan kategori dengan penilai tertinggi yang disebut �Climbers� adalah seseorang yang mampu bertahan bila menghadapi masalah dan berusaha untuk menjadi lebih baik setelah permasalahan itu selesai dia tangani.

So far, we as the educators always use IQ (Intellectual Quotient), Emotional Quotient (EQ) and also SQ (Spiritual Quotient) to know how far the students can reach their achievement. We forget that they will go to the working world. The working world is different from the learning world. Then Paul G. Stoltz Ph.D has come to introduce Adversity Quotient (AQ) to show that AQ is important to be introduced to the world especially for the education institutions. AQ is a tool to know how far that people can handle the problems when they face in front of them. Through this research, the researcher used the students from Faculty of Computer Science from the academic year of 2017/2018, the odd semester, parallel class as the object of the reseach. The researcher taught Business English to them for one semester by using the standard scores from PAMU (Attendance 10%, Assignment 20%, Mid Term Test 30%, Final Term Test 40%), then through this standard, the researcher converted the scores to the AQ categories that consist of three parts. The lowest part is Quitters. The people in this level are tend to quit while they face the problems and don�t want to do anything. The second is Campers, The people in this level are tend to struggle in this position and don�t stop but don�t try to reach more achievement. The highest level is Climbers. The people in this level are tend to fight against the problem and want to reach more achievement.
