Pengintegrasian data Penginderaan Jauh (PJ) dan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) ternyata dapat digunakan untuk melakukan studi awal terhadap perencanaan pembangunan sebuah bendung, hal ini dapat terlihat pada perencanaan pembangunan bendung Tukad Melangit dimana dengan menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh dan SIG mampu memberikan informasi tentang posisi terbaik calon lokassi bendung, informasi tentang kondisi geologi, hidrologi dan geo lingkungan, dimana dengan pendekatan ini diperoleh diskripsi yang jelas dan akurat calon lokasi bendung yang bermanfaat bagi kegiatan studi kelayakan perencanaan pembangunan bendung selanjutnya.

Integrating Remote Sensing (PJ) data and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) turned out to be used to conduct preliminary studies on the construction of a weir, this can be seen in the planning of construction of the weir Tukad Melangit weir where using remote sensing technology and GIS is able to provide information about the position the best prospective dam location, information on geological, hydrological and geo-environmental conditions, where with this approach a clear and accurate description of the prospective dam location is useful for the feasibility study of the next dam construction plan.
