In the next 28 years, Indonesia s population will reach 309 million. With a stable economic growth in the range of 5-6 percent per year, population income will reach US $ 29 thousand per capita. Thus, in 2045, Indonesia s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) could reach US $ 9.1 trillion. These positive projections are certainly good news for Indonesia. But the question is whether being equal to the country with the greatest economic power means that the distribution has been achieved? With the rapid growth of online business, Indonesian people will get positive benefits in the economy such as welfare growth, new job growth and others. Thus Indonesia is no longer just a target for the international business market, but on the contrary it can become an e-commerce entrepreneur that is capable of reaching foreign markets. In 2020, Indonesia s online business revolution is predicted to boost Gross Domestic Product by 22 percent. Seeing the development of e-commerce in Indonesia is so great that it has a great opportunity to provide markets for local and international businesses. If this potential can be utilized properly, it will certainly boost the national economy.
