Description:

Contact dermatitis is inflammation of the skin due to local exposure of the skin to external substances. If the material is external to the primary irritant, then what happens is irritant contact dermatitis, and if the skin is exposed to a sensitizer, it is allergic contact dermatitis. This study aims to determine the factors associated with complaints of contact dermatitis among waste transport officers at the UPTD Waste processing area II Tambun Selatan in 2022. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The population of this study were 123 workers in the UPTD Garbage Processing Region II Tambun Selatan. The sample in this study was a garbage collector at the UPTD Waste processing area II Tambun Selatan collecting 64 samples of garbage collectors using random sampling technique. The data collection method is primary data obtained from measuring instruments in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that the proportion of workers who had complaints of contact dermatitis were 65.5% of garbage collectors (42 workers), then the Chi-Square test showed that there was a relationship between age (P-value 0.040), years of service (P-value 0.002), personal hygiene (P-value 0.035), education (P-value 0.044) and use of PPE (P-value 0.000) with complaints of contact dermatitis on waste transport officers at UPTD Waste processing area II southern fat and there is no relationship between work duration (p-value 0,068) It is hoped that the garbage collectors who have complaints of contact dermatitis can check themselves to the puskesmas or health services and the UPTD can prevent complaints of contact dermatitis experienced by waste transport workers
