Komunikasi interpersonal merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam hubungan antar individu di ruang lingkup pekerjaan, baik antara pegawai dengan jabatan yang sama ataupun berbeda. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah pernah dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif oleh manajer dapat meningkatkan komitmen organisasi pegawainya. Sebaliknya, komunikasi interpersonal yang buruk antar pegawai ataupun dengan atasannya merupakan sebagian besar sumber permasalahan di tempat kerja.
