Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) atau dalam bahasa Indonesia Alat Perlindungan diri (APD) dalam dunia kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja laboratorium mengacu pada semua perlengkapan yang digunakan oleh pekerja saat bekerja, untuk melindungi pekerja tersebut saat melakukan pekerjaan. Alat perlndungan diri tersebut meliputi : Jas laboratorium, sarung tangan yang sesuai, Masker, kacamata pelindung (Goggles), alas kaki tertutup, Pelindung wajah (Face shield ) dan sebagainya. Alat Perlindungan diri merupakan alat keselamatan kerja utama dalam bekerja di laboratorium dan industri bioteknologi. Selain itu masih dibantu oleh beberapa perlengkapan lainnya.
