Description:
Upaya kesehatan adalah setiap kegiatan untuk memelihara dan meningkatkan kesehatan dan tempat yang digunakan untuk
menyelenggarakannya disebut sarana kesehatan. Sarana kesehatan berfungsi
untuk melakukan upaya kesehatan dasar atau upaya kesehatan rujukan dan upaya kesehatan penunjang. Selain itu, sarana kesehatan dapat juga dipergunakan untuk kepentingan pendidikan dan pelatihan serta penelitian, pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan
dan teknologi di bidang kesehatan. Pelayanan farmasi rumah sakit merupakan salah satu kegiatan di rumah sakit yang menunjang pelayanan kesehatan yang bermutu. Hal tersebut diperjelas dalam Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor : 1333/Menkes/SK/XII/1999 tentang Standar
Pelayanan Rumah Sakit, yang menyebutkan bahwa pelayanan farmasi rumah sakit adalah bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari sistem pelayanan kesehatan rumah sakit yang berorientasi kepada pelayanan pasien,
penyediaan obat yang bermutu.
