APPLICATION TO RECOGNIZE HALAL PRODUCTS BY SCANNING BARCODE ON IOS DEVICE

Islam is deeply rooted in China with a history of over 1,400 years (Gladney, 2013), however, Muslims live as communities among many other minority groups. Since China is not Muslim country, it is hard to find halal product. Because the food is a part of the basic necessities of every living being and creature in order to live and survive, food is considered the number one and especially for muslims who can only eat halal food and drink according to Islamic dietary standards (the literal meaning of halal is lawful or permitted). Then, if every muslims can find halal products easily, it will really help them. The software development method used in the development of this application is the RAD (Rapid Application Development) model. QingZhenMa application attempted to adopt some existing technologies to solve these problems. The technologies that the author used on this project are Swift within Xcode application to build iOS mobile application for the users. Html, Css and Javascript used on Sublime Text application to build web application for the administrator and deploy the web application to be online on Firebase Hosting. The technologies realize to recognize halal products by scanning barcode are Firebase and Barcode Scanner. Firebase for saving all the data about product depending on its own number of barcode and Barcode Scanner to get the barcode number of products. The core function of the platform is to facilitate muslims in China in order to find halal product easily. The trial use of this application indicates that author approaches are achievable and effective.
