Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan kalimat baku dan kalimat
efektif dalam karangan argumentasi siswa SMA kelas XII IPS PPLSdi BKB Nurul Fikri Kranggan,
Bekasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang dianalisis berupa
karangan argumentasi siswaSMA kelas XII IPS PPLSdi BKB Nurul Fikri Kranggan, Bekasi. Hasil
penelitian menjelaskan bahwa kesalahan berbahasa yang berkaitan dengan kalimat baku antara lain:
1) penggunaan struktur kalimat yang tidak baku sebanyak 23 kesalahan, 2) penggunaan ejaan yang
tidak baku sebanyak 19 kesalahan, dan 3) penggunaan kata-kata tidak baku sebanyak 14 kesalahan.
Sementara itu, kesalahan penulisan kalimat efektif yang terlihat dalam karangan argumentasi siswa
disebabkan oleh 1) ketidaksepadanan atau ketidaksatuan gagasan sebanyak 20 kesalahan, 2)
ketatabahasaan yang kurang benar sebanyak 16 kesalahan, 3) ketidakhematan kata sebanyak 13
kesalahan, 4) ketidakpaduan kalimat sebanyak 5 kesalahan, 5) keambiguitasan kalimat sebanyak 4
kesalahan, dan 6) kelogisan kalimat sebanyak 2 kesalahan. Analisis kesalahan tersebut dapat dijadikan
bahan evaluasi bagi guru untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam menggunakan kalimat baku
dan efektif ketika menulis sebuah karangan, khususnya karangan argumentasi.

This study is aimed at analyzing both the use of standard sentences and effective sentences in the
argumentative essay of the twelve graders of SMA PPLS at BKB Nurul Fikri Kranggan, Bekasi. This
study used descriptive qualitative method while data were analyzed in the form of argumentative
essay from the twelve graders of SMA PPLS at BKB Nurul Fikri Kranggan, Bekasi. Samples were
randomly selected from ten essays from 25 students. The results explained that the language errors
associated with standard sentences included: 1) the use of non-standard sentence structures of 23
errors, 2) the use of non-standard spelling of 19 errors, and 3) the use of non-standard word of 14
errors. Meanwhile, errors in writing effective sentences seen in students argument essays are caused
by 1) incompatibility or unity of ideas with 20 errors, 2) improper grammar by 16 errors, 3)
ineffectiveness of words by 13 errors, 4) incompatibility of sentences by 5 errors, 5) sentence
ambiguity from 4 errors, and 6) sentence logic from 2 errors. Error analysis can be used as an
evaluation material for teachers to improve student understanding in using standard and effective
sentences when writing essays, especially argumentative essay.
