ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING RICE IMPORT IN INDONESIA, 1990-2019

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the volume of rice import in Indonesia. The independent variables contained in this study are the total population in Indonesia, total rice production, local rice price, while the dependent variable is the volume of rice import in Indonesia. This type of research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The data used in this study are annual time series data for the period 1990-2019 with a total of 30 data. This research was conducted through the official website to obtain research data, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Agriculture Organization of The United Nations (FAOSTAT) and various other sources. Data analysis in this study using multiple linear regression analysis. In the simultaneous test results (F test), the variable total population in Indonesia, total rice production, local rice price simultaneously has a significant effect on the volume of import rice in Indonesia. In the partial test results (t-test), the variable total population in Indonesia, total rice production, and local rice price has significant effect on the dependent variable.
