Skripsi ini dimaksudkan sebagai proses dan hasil dari penelitian yang bertujuan untuk
mengetahui sejauhmana penerapan formula E=wMC
2
di Kaskus dengan mengambil
sampel kaskusers yang tergabung dalam Facebook Penggemar Kaskus. Hasil ini
memberikan apakah Kaskus sebagai media komunitas terbesar di Indonesia yang
mendapat perhargaan Marketing Award dalam kategori Low Marketing Budget Company,
dan penghargaan yang diterima ada 2 di bidang social media, yaitu The Best Marketing
Driving dan The Best Innovation in Marketing (Desember 2009) berhasil karena adanya
penerapan formula E=wMC
2
. Dalam mengukur penerapan formula E=wMC
2
dengan
menerapkan sebelas manifesto yang disebut �The 11 Manifesto of Horizontal Marketing�.
Hasil penelitian ini dapat dilihat bagaimana sebuah merek sekarang ini dalam memahami
target audiensnya yang mengalami perubahan dalam mengelolanya menjadi pendekatan
horizontal sehingga dapat menjadi acuan dalam berkomunikasi kepada khalayak sasaran.
